Peter Odekerken has an avid interest in the conservation of wildlife.  He has gained much experience as an aviculturist but also enjoys studying and photographing birds in the wild.  His particular interest is the parrot family and has lectured on various forms of parrot in many countries around the world.

Peter is the author of `A Guide to Lories & Lorikeets: Their management, care and breeding'. This text, along with many other texts and journals, features Peter's excellent photographic images of parrots.  

Peter uses Canon and Nikon digital SLR cameras for his still photography.  He also enjoys video for which he uses Canon and JVC cameras.  All are 3CCD chip cameras and the JVC is a recent high definition camera.  His main objective at present is to be able to provide some funding for parrot conservation through profits from his photographs.
